OUR HISTORIC HOTEL IN MERIDA, MEXICO
With more than 100 years of history, our boutique hotel in Merida is a haven, a museum, and an Eden at the same time. Originally built in 1905, the house is partially located on Calle 59, the main street in Merida, and a road that has witnessed great historical events, such as the passage of General Porfirio Díaz, who visited the state in 1906.
Inside the compound, the spaces have been carefully renovated, always seeking to rescue the unique charm of period buildings, but with a modern touch that perfectly places them in the 21st century. The state-of-the-art cozy suites,, designed around the large central tree that nourishes the entire internal ecosystem of the garden, are sheltered by abundant green and leafy vegetation.
The surrounding flora and fauna inspire us; the generous and peaceful environment in which we find ourselves gives way to our name, Künük, a palindrome that borrows two concepts from the Yucatec Maya: Kuun – gold and Nuuk – big. Together, they form the phrase “big gold”, which perfectly describes the privileged location in which we find ourselves – a jewel in the heart of the city and a true treasure to protect and nurture.
Künük Hotel Boutique, in addition to being a space to rest and enjoy, is also a small nature reserve – home to multiple species of birds, fish, and trees of all kinds – and a benefactor of the community that showcases the undeniable local talent with which we work day by day; the palm slippers handmade by Mexican artisans, or the decorative textiles in the rooms are just a few examples.
Merida Restaurant
Delight your senses with refreshing drinks and exquisite dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Our luxury boutique hotel has a lounge bar where you will find everything, from the internationally famous Oaxacan mezcal to Xtabentun, a Yucatecan Mayan liquor made from honey with a history as interesting as its taste.
You can also try the unique flavors of the region in our Restaurant 609. Its select menu, carefully cooked by our skilled chef and his experienced team, is prepared with the highest quality ingredients, seasoned with aromatic herbs grown directly in our garden, and accompanied by freshly baked bread and artisan jams.
