Mérida: the city that is close to many wonders

Cenotes

Its name comes from the Maya, which means "cavern with water" they were considered sacred spaces because it was believed that the god of rain inhabited the place, which is why purification ceremonies were performed. Now, they are natural wells with fresh and crystalline waters; some are several meters deep and allow the passage of aquatic life.
